Murals

I work on a wide variety of projects commissioned for public and commercial spaces and for private residences. They are executed on site or in my studio in Athens, Georgia.

Finishes

My broad range of finishes includes water and oil gilding, stenciling, glazing, faux bois and faux marble, old world techniques utilizing traditional process and modern finishes
employing state-of-the-art materials.

Restoration

I restore and repair murals, wallpapers, wall coverings, furniture and exterior facades.  Each project I undertake is extensively researched and documented to ensure the exacting standards of art conservation and restoration.

Theater

I started my career painting and designing theatrical scenery in New York City. And, I continue to create scenery for a wide range of production needs including theater, film, ballet and opera.

Studio Paintings

In my paintings, I create individual stories from a composite of images I have compiled over the years. They are intricate and intimate, and never bound by a specific medium, technique, or style.

Classic Center Mural Project

The Classic Center Cultural Foundation commissioned Jill to create four signature murals reflecting the historical and cultural heritage of Athens.  They were installed in the main lobby of the Classic Center in August, 2019.  The video offers a behind the scenes perspective into the artistic process to create the murals and the community support that brought the project to fruition.

My Projects

I embrace a broad scope to the work, and no two commissions are the same. I employ old world techniques in their execution, and I strive to use each project as a broadening experience, whether it involves portraiture, historical painting, restoration, landscape, or finish. I enjoy the research aspect of my projects as much as their execution, and the diverse requests made by my patrons allow me limitless opportunities for creativity and resourcefulness.
